I truly left my heart in San Francisco…or the Bay Area really in general... one day we will be back but in the mean time, we visit as often as we can! We’re foodies so when we go to San Francisco, we make it a point to visit our favorite restaurants and bars. We eat and eat and eat and then a little while later, we eat some more. The food is just too good so you really need to take advantage of every meal… and we definitely do. Our Saturday was spent in the East Bay hitting up our old neighborhood fav spots – Jupiters and Ben and Nicks and then walking around Cal campus… pure nostalgia day.
Our Sunday was spent walking up and down the hills of San Francisco, dodging into quirky bars and our favorite spots. We stopped into Palmers on Fillmore Street. They have an old timey classic bar and make amazing cocktails. It’s a good hipster twist on an old man bar. They also have a decent happy hour with some delishy appetizers. I also love Lion Pub in Pacific Heights – great drinks AND they have a free cheese spread! I’m always up for some cheese. Later we soaked in the views at Dolores Park and then hit up our favorite taqueria in the Mission, El Farolito for a Super Burrito (the best burritto ever!) and then walked over to the Make-Out Room to watch a friend's band.
Walking around all day, the architecture kills me every time - San Francisco is just so fancy. Every apartment building has some embellishment.. a chandelier in your entryway (just cuz..duh), that amazing crown molding, the detailing in the archways, the tile work… shall I go on. Every building has character and I love it!
I promise you SF, we will move back…one day :)
