Hoppy Easter to everyone and I hope your Sunday celebrations were filled with family and friends, food and spring blooms like ours was! We spent the day outside in this amazing weather surrounded by our favorites. The deviled egg torch was passed to me this year and I researched for days to find the perfect recipe. I started with this classic recipe, zinging it up with extra vinegar and mustard and used our KitchenAid Mixer to get them really fluffy. I payed around with the toppings to add color: siracha and papricka (these were a hit), capers and dill and sliced cornichon pickles. All the egg peeling and patience paid off because everyone LOVED them. I will be making them every year now. More eggs were to be had all around, of course. We all decorated eggs with a little friendly competition. I discovered a new technique in egg decorating - using a paintbrush really helps get some fun watercolor-looking designs... and even the dogs tails got involved- woops! We couldn't help it and they loved to join in on the fun. Just dip some tails in the dye when you're tired of decorating those eggs, rinse it a bit and dry with a towel. The day was filled with lots of brunchy foods, eggs galore and fun times all around - I hope everyone enjoyed the day and went to bed stuffed and hoppy :)
