Andy's little nugget, according to the Baby Bump app, was the size of a plum at week 12. Ever since then, the name stuck and, though we didn't know it was a girl at the time, she was from then on referred to as our little plum. A couple weeks later the cravings kicked in for our favorite mom to be, Andy. She raved about her favorite new combo- pickles and Nutella! Though we wouldn't agree to try the delicacy, we had to make our Preggo a batch of our infamous Preggo Pickles. Thus, the theme for our brunch was born: Pickles and Plums for the parents to be!
We hosted an outdoor brunch among the flowers with close friends, yummy food, and bubbles for all. We had plenty of non-alcoholic bubbles for the mommy to be and a Floral Bubbly Bar for everyone else! The ladies were adorned with hand-made flower crowns and pansies floated in their flutes of bubbles. We wanted a fun way to involve daddy-to-be so everyone got their temporary tats courtesy of Tattify on Etsy where you can design your own tattoos- so fun! Daddy is covered in rad tattoos so we thought it would be a fun way of honoring him and a fun activity that doesn't involve chocolate in diapers (yuck!). And of course the parents to be needed a little welcome present for baby Plum courtesy of Betsy Made Shop on Etsy. These custom dolls are such a fun present with a personal touch. The whole family was included- even Lily and Bogie Bear and they were a hit! We had lots of scrummy brunchy food along with our plum jelly thumbprint cookies and of course, everyone went home with a jar of our Pickles for Plum.
The brunch was filled with friends, flowers, bubbles and of course pickles and plums. We are so eager to meet our Plum in January and are incredibly lucky to celebrate this amazing time in our friend’s lives. We love you little Wong family.
